for posting “Orphaned” Lab Results:
- Click on this icon: to open the “Lab Requests and Results” window to
see if there are any Orphaned Lab Results
- NOTE: Be sure to “unselect” the box
marked “Hide Preliminary Results”
- If there are orphans, click on this icon: to open the “Patient Clipboard”
- Click on the “Patient Search” button and locate the
patient by “pet name, last name”
- Look at the summary and/or patient visit list to find
out which test has not attached to the record and take note of which
doctor ordered the lab test
- Go back to the “Lab Requests and Results” window and
double-click on the results to be moved
- In the window that pops up, hit the “F2” key and the
last patient you brought up in the Clipboard will automatically be brought
up
- NOTE: this does NOT work with inactive, or deceased
patients – for those, you must search by “pet name, last name” every time
- Whenever you bring up an inactive pet, a pop-up
will ask if you wish to re-activate this patient… be sure to click on
“NO”
- In the box to the right of “STAFF” put the code for
the doctor who ordered the corresponding lab work
- NOTE: you must have the Caps-Lock on for doctor’s
initials to work
- Click on the circle where it says: DO NOT BILL CLIENT
– they have already been charged, we do not want to double-bill the
clients
- Lastly, click on “OK” and the results will be sent to
the patient’s record
- NOTE: to view the results you must refresh the
patient clipboard, then click on the tab at the bottom that says “LAB”
